Hotel Rila

The location is a bit out of centre, but at this rate it was good. The receptionists were friendly and helpful, they gave me good advice what to see. I would recommend this place to others.

We booked three rooms for a party of 7. There were stains on the cielings in two rooms. One bathroom seemed to not have been cleaned. One of the rooms had cobwebs in the windows (was never dusted). The directions on the hotel gave the impression you could take a tramway until immediately outside the hotel. This was not the case and we were forced to walk a 4 block radius around the tram station asking every (non-english-speaking) hungarian we met for directions until we accedently stumbled across the hotel. As it was a hostel, the custom in this region was to demand payment upfront before you even entered your room, thus, don't expect service that would have inspired you to tip, but rather expect an expirience that would have inspired you to leave the place without paying. We were still able to enjoy our time in Budapest in spite of the night stayed here, but if we ever return we would never consider hotel rila.
