Welcome to the Estate La Bandita!
Situated on the upper part of the Tuscan Maremma, Villa la Bandita is an estate of 55 hectares which stretches along the sunny hills of the upper Val di Cornia near the Commune of Sassetta, a climatic area at 300 metres above sea level, only a few kilometres from Castagneto Carducci, Bolgheri and from the beaches of Marina di Castagneto and San Vincenzo, in front of the Tuscan archipelago. The sea is 12 km away from the Estate and is quickly reached along roads that are not very frequented. An enchanted place characterized by the Mediterranean thickwood, olive groves and vineyards, the Val di Cornia enjoys a particular micro-climate with cool breezes in the summer and mild days in the winter.
The flora and wildlife are among the most beautiful and interesting in the whole of the upper Maremma with rare samples of wild orchids and various animal species like fawn, porcupines and wild boar. The estate consists in the master’s house (from the 18th century) recently restructured and transformed into an elegant “Country House” and the two Depandance nearby: "La Foresteria" and "Ulivi". The Restaurant of the Estate is situated in the Villa and serves delicious dishes, prepared in the tuscan tradition using mainly own organic produce from the estate. A swimming-pool, Tennis courts and a conference room are also available for our guests.
From the Estate some of the main Tuscan historical centres can be easily reached, among which are Florence, Volterra, S.Gimignano, Siena. In the immediate proximity you will find the Castle of Bolgheri, built on a hillock and linked to the Via Aurelia by the famous drive with cypress trees mentioned by the poet Giosuè Carducci in the poem “Davanti a San Guido"
Populonia, an old Etruscan village that looks onto the sea and Baratti, a splendid inlet in front of Elba, 28 km from the island of Elba and the Tuscan archipelago, quickly reached by boat connections from the port of Piombino; the port of Livorno (boarding for Gorgona and Capraia) is approximately 57 km away, Volterra (45 km), San Gimignano (60 km), Bolgheri and the WWF Oasis – (15 km), Pisa (75 km), Florence (135 km), Siena (95 km), Punta Ala (69 km), golf course at Gavorrano (69 km).
